Evening all, currently running a reekie 2000 cleanflow but am struggling now the weather has turned against us. Looking at a wheel drive harvester to help propel me along. What are peoples thoughts, looking to spend under 10K. On chalky dirt very hard going when wet !!

Find a Grimme GZ, ours was magic in the wet. Long time ago so there must be plenty of old ones about at good money as so many growers have packed up (including us!)

what works best when wet Dahlmans or multi sep
Dahlmans are better in the wet. The problem i find with grimme is theyre so heavy so the left hand wheel is always trying to drop in. The best trailed machine ive used in the wet is a standen vision xs. Light weight, everything is infinately adjustable, dahlman rollers and the boost button on the wheel drive would get it anywhere and if the tractor dropped in the harvester would drag it out backwards. The T2 are the newer version https://www.farmads.co.uk/farmad/76140/

I've seen one working good harvester but cant understand the name, that big beam up the middle leaves no vision

Reekie 2170 has wheel drive but needs some hp up front. it has a wider web to the 2000 ,,2170 also has pressure sensing on the diablo rollers ,variable speed dalman rollers

I’ll second that, the Vision XS I used to use was practically unstoppable in the wet and with all the adjustments both on the dials and in the display screen you could usually keep the crop moving through it. It was usually the trailers that stopped us from lifting not the harvester. Should be able to pick one up for decent money too, not a very desirable machine to many so prices tend to be lower than the red things.

Currently have a Pearson enterprise sat for sale after we stopped growing spuds. Not quite as heavy as the gz’s we thought when we bought it. It has stars before the dahlmans which always worked a dream and wheel drive meant it was the trailers that were our problem in the field never the harvester. Would suit your budget too. Based in North Yorkshire if it’s of any use. Had a guy who kept saying he wanted it so we never pushed to advertise it before the season then he’s backed out now so left it a bit late!!

Speak to Steve Thorley. He own the design rights to Reekie and holds a ton of new and 2nd hand spares. Not to mention a wealth of knowledge. Don't phone when you're busy. The man can talk!
