Trailed Sprayer

Looking at buying a trailed sprayer at the min and have come across a 2007 Landquip Electrac 3000L 24m. Can anyone tell me if they were a good sprayer? I want something light on the ground so obviously the alloy booms are appealing, hoping for something that weighs under 3 ton ideally. This particular sprayer has been fully overhauled and is ready for work, just the paintwork lets it down a bit probably not been stored inside..

We have a tractor with isobus and auto steer, so a slightly more modern sprayer would be nice, but seems to be slim pickings out there at the moment. Budget £10-15k max, would prefer something that holds its money and has done its depreciating. Also something that can handle steep ground, as we have a few bad bits.

I bought a 24m 2008 electrac 3500l this spring as wanted to change tramline widths, gone really well this autumn, has an arag bravo controller on

the booms do fold quite far out although they are quite away from our cab it could be closer on other tractors

Has anyone seen any nice sprayers advertised? There's quite a few John Deeres out there, 732s, but I've read they are quite heavy. Isobus would be very appealing if one could be got within budget.

Have you been in contact with John Rhodes AS Ltd they specialise in sprayers if they haven’t got anything in stock they will look around for you always worth a phone call.

Go and have a chat with Gary Avison. He has the best and biggest collection of second hand sprayers in the country IMO.

I have no experience of Lanequip Sprayers, so can’t help there.

I’m on my second Landquip 3000 electrac. First one I had from 2001-2011 and my current one from 2011 til now. I really like them but just a word of caution. My first one had the cheaper construction tubular pommier boom. This was in my opinion not really strong enough and we needed it aluminium welded up a lot. When I changed in 2011 I specced the stronger so called “contractors” boom. All the aluminium is square section and a lot stronger and we haven’t needed a welder anywhere near it. I’m not sure whether they still used the lighter weight boom in 2007 or not.

I used to have a Jd 732, I would never have said it’s heavy. Was pretty reliable and I never welded anything on it. Tee jet contro
Did have one wobble over 12 years and that was partly my fault. A slight boom bend you would only find if you knew where to look and some damage around the steps.I do have some very steep banks and awkward places where I have to turn.

For second hand sprayers it’s worth a call to Julian at cleanacres he shifts quite a few.

Have a Knight now which I am very pleased with. It’s a step up from the jd

Here's a few for sale on this side of the pond including the aforementioned Landquip. Unsure which of them is going to tread lightest, and which comes with better tech? The descriptions as usual are next to useless!

question do dealers ever test the sprayers they have for sale? or do they just date the certificate from the day you buy it? ive heard some horror stories from purchasers of s/h sprayers.
