Looking to build a small hooklift trailer with gear from 7.5 tonner, any body have a rough idea of cost for a rigid single axle for mini super singles? Could use chassis/axle from lorry but I think better to build own chassis to keep height down and also weight.

For what it's worth I had commercial high speed axles fitted to my 14t AW grain trailers. 2 axles/trailer complete with air brakes, load sensor, ABS and hydraulic brakes cost £5k per trailer fitted.

Standard super singles 385/65R22.5

I have 4 second hand AW axles here with 10 stud super single hubs lying around the yard if you are interested. I put the tyres & rims on the new axles.

Thanks Speedstar, that would be a good spec axle for a 6 tonne gross 40km/hr? I want to do the job right as the whole point is to have one good trailer to maintain rather than several .If it works well aim to make a big brother for it as well.

I looked at this (7.5t gross hooklift trailer) and decided it wasn't worth it for the payload that it would have unless I had a job for it every day?
Lift capacity is given as 3750kg, including the skip! @B R C, I'd go straight for the big brother.
