trailer re build

Location
Suffolk
Last summer I repaired my 4/5 ton trailer. I used 3" channel for the sides, 6" channel for the rear and 4mm sheet for the bed. The 4mm sheet came in a big enough piece that I didn't have to join anywhere.
Lots of burns cutting the old body off so be careful. I even had one jump down my throat and I was wearing overalls and goggles! Plenty of 2.5mm & 3.2mm rods will be needed too. Very satisfying end result though. I just have to find time to do the sides this summer.

The answer to that Q is yes the main rails are original. I replaced the side rails and the rear x member plus one out-rigger (made from two pieces of the 4mm) I would use 3" channel for the out-riggers as I think spreading the load in 3" is better than in 2" plus this will give good side support and blend in with the 3" side rail.....
