Trailer Tyre Dilemma

My muck trailer has thrown in the towel and my Bunning 15t grain trailer (whilst being a great trailer) at 35 years old is getting a little tired. I’ve decided to buy one new trailer to do both jobs. My dilemma is that the new trailer comes with super singles as standard but my current Bunning’s has 600 floats on it. Will I regret going to super singles even though 90% of the time it will be running on concrete? I’m on a tight budget.

Possibly, they may be a bit big. Two of the tires are brand new as well. I was planning on trading in the Bunning for the new trailer, they may not appreciate the swap. Though they have only offered £2750...

95% of the muck usage is only on concrete. It’s taken by someone else to the field. This is what’s making it hard to decide for me.

super singles cut in on big trailers if this is not a problem they wear well and are pretty cheap to run and accessible should you need a new one in a hurry

Why not use the bunning for muck?
Buy new grain trailer

Generally pull the trailer with my loader, so a dump trailer is better as no tailgate and leaves a taller heap. Plus I’ve convinced myself that going new is worth it as I won’t be maintaining two trailers.

Your new one will last a lot longer
Less cleaning
Farm assurance!!

Mr Red Tractor would be happy, but my nice shiny new trailer would sit in the barn for 11.5 months a year only to come out for a short period and cart 1250t. Should last 150 years at least. I’ve got fed up with using old trailers for muck as they deteriorate so quickly. My plan is to paint the inside every year just before harvest.

get a second hand set of super singles to fit to bunning and sell it. keep flotation tyres and put them on new trailer when needed. or buy new trailer with no wheels and fit them to that
