Trailing shoe vs shallow disc injector on stubbles

whats best to put slurry on stubbles been looking at the tined incorperators but perhaps trailing shoe might be as good, an its for a umbi setup

A lot depends do you need to get rid of it or utilise every cube?
A cheap way of getting high application rates on is using a 6m sward slitter (aerator) on the front and splash plate on the back.

Splash plate is out the question, utilise every cube no point wasting a valuable resource. Its more to get the lagoon down to last until the spring when we put it on the crops, we use spread plates on tankers but has to be cultivated within 24hrs an the villagers like to moan (pig slurry) shoe or injector takes away the rush to cultivate

have had both, veenhuis injector, it will still smell and work rate are slower due to width of machine, only got dribble bar now and if you keep it low to the ground there's very little difference, you will lose only a small amount of nitrogen compared to injection but wear rates are higher for injection

No do you want to fit to tanker or use it with a umbilical cord system, we have a 24 meter dribble bar and only use it on crop's have 2 trailing shoe one 7,75 meters and 12 meter roelama and you can inject it in to the ground with it and their is very little smell at all with it
Umbilical, we have a dribble 15m dribble bar currently going up to 30m next year an we find on the stubbles the smell isnt as bad as the splash plates but boss likes to keep the villages on side

Why not use umbilical early spring into growing crop? That’s when the plant needs nutrients. I’ve heard of one farm that does that and uses an n sensor to top up the missed bits!

We do that already, when we switch over to the umbi more will go in the spring, but they like to get the lagoon emptied out in the autumn aswell
