Hate crossing railway lines, had the jockey wheel on stock trailer dig into the bank as climbed the other side once, was only for a split second and extra revs but stomach churning.

First year out of school and went carting grain for an arable farm.
Ford 5000 2wd and 8 ton trailer, up hill pull onto a crossing between fields, hit the timbers on the crossing and sat there spinning.
Only way to get over was to take a run at it, not a pleasant experience

Same happened to me when I was a teenager, approached the crossing incline with four wheel trailer full of straw bales & a wheel began spinning half on the level crossing couldn’t roll back off the crossing then remembered to engage the diff lock that pulled it across……phew got me going for a second or two.

If it’s a user worked crossing always remember to use the phone to get the signalmans permission to cross & let him know when you have crossed safely & gates are closed, if you get stuck in the middle of the crossing phone the signalman immediately don’t mess about trying to move it.
