Still got the Fergie one in the shed, everytime we change wheels with the hydraulic jack it gets mentioned that it was so simple and safe to use. It would certainly need to be beefed up a bit for an 8 tonne tractor.

Found this on Youtube:

http://www.trakjak.ie

Looks very useful but is horrendously expensive, surely it wouldn't cost too much to build my own version?
This is designed and built by a friend of mine, it is not as cheap to make as you might think , it is rated to lift 12 ton , it can lift the back end of a case quad track . What value do you put on an accident caused by a tractor falling off a jack , it is selling very well to tractor repair shops and lads who do a lot of wheel changing, to lads who want to wash the tractor before bringing it into the workshop leaving the wheels outside out of the way , all I do know is that garages who had to be persuaded to buy this jack in the first place are now back buying their second and third jack , my local NH dealer has one and the mechanics say its the best tool in the workshop and is in full time use , they wouldn't be without it .

According to the website it's 2400 Euro's (£1700!)

I totally appreciate the safety side to I but struggling to see where the £1700 is
There is 500 in the wheels alone , a lot of money has gone into development , CE marking and patents , and the man had to make money . I agree it's not cheap , but for what it does , the men who have bought it don't think it's expensive , it is saving some of them up to 10 hrs / week , they don't be long paying for themselves and it will last a lifetime .

I like the idea a lot but also agree its too dear for me, could a static version be built without the wheels and a lighter duty one as I certainly don't want to lift a Quadtrac, 7 t capacity would be plenty, then maybe he could get the price to sub £1000?
...and then come on here and do a TFF discount! ;)(y)

Wonder what the patent refers to, seeing as everyone knows fergie used to make and sell them.
Not trying to be smart just remembering some patent on a disabled toilet costing the inventor ks and ks but the idea was old.
Edit just checked website no mention of patent number or applied for so………..

Patents only last 20 years from date of filing now, and before 1995 they last 17 yrs apparently. So the fergie one is well expired, if indeed there was a patent on it. £1700 seams ok to me for the type of users they are targeting.

Thanks to TFF, the first Trakjak went to Denmark early this week to a big tractor dealer , he is back already to order 10 more trakjaks , he is so impressed with the safety and time saving of this machine.
