Should be simple I know but
Old phone is locked to Orange so will not talk to new EE sim
Old sim is big size - so will not fit in new phone.

Tried transfer using bluetooth but will only send 1 record at a time so possible but tedious

Have transfered file of contacts out of phone onto `puter but can not work out how to get it onto new phone.

Any thoughts ?

I've just upgraded my phone and the new Samsung has this all singing all dancing file transfer app, all very well but the old phone isn't modern enough to put the app on that one, bugger.
As I've got a Google account all my contacts are copied on there so when I signed into the goole account on the new phone the Googly thingy did its thing and all my contacts appeared straight away. The only thing I have "lost" is all my old text messages, not really a big thing but if you've got some important information in your text messages then make a note of them ;)

all you need is a gmail account and all your contacts are automatically backed up on the pc, then when you get a new phone and enter the email account details on to it it will sync all the contacts back on to the new phone.

save contacts to sim card, remove card, cut down to size fit in new fone, save contacts from card to fone
OK, as long as a) your contacts are saved on your sim and b) you have less contacts (200?) than your sim will hold.

But, OP's phone wasn't a 'smart phone' so wouldn't have synched to Google. :(

Thanks for the suggestions folks.
As JB noted old phone was not a smart phone so not straightforward. also it`s contract was finished
Managed by connecting old phone to PC, finding folder holding contacts and pasting it to PC,
Connect new phone then pasting list of contacts to new phone, then in new phone - contacts -import and away we went.
These fancy smart phones weren`t designed for 67 year old agricultural fingers !!

If your old sim can be connected to computer, you can use Coolmuster Android Assistant to help you export the contacts to pc, then connect the new phone to the same computer via usb cable. You can also use the tool to help you import contacts to it.
