Transport position for plough

Golf perhaps?

But then there is a third possiblity nobody has counted on. Two brothers hereabouts used to share a TE20 and plough. They both went together taking it in turns about. They used to take it on a short Leyland 3.5 tonne car transporter. They devised a means to upend the plough whist it was still fixed to the tractor. Dont ask me how they did it but they did it for years, driving about with the plough vertical.
I have seen some one turn the plough vertical to get 2 on a lorry but that invloved a hiab swing lift thing to lift the plough up!

Our guys never had a hiab. Sometimes bump into them in the village. Will ask next time I see one of them.

If you think about it.......take the front disc and top link off. Fix a bar across between the lower links. Drive forward with the plough on the ground and it will upend naturally until the headstock comes to rest on the bar fitted btween the lower links. Fasten it down. Lift up your arms and away you go. Job done.

I have seen several iterations to get over this, one like you say has a set of pins and top link mount on the side of the plough, Tim Hurley has this set up, finishes ploughing, un hitches and hitches on the side of the plough and on trailer, simple.
The other one I have seen is where the tractor is backed onto the trailer with the plough over hanging the the drawbar, the rear of the plough was lifted up on a short top link and had a frame welded onto the drawbar to support the rear furrow/stop it swinging about.
Both set ups seem to work well.

I did try going up backwards and sticking the plough over the head board and it does work well and i could be persuaded to make a new lower headboard so the plough isnt so high up. other than the then having to turn the whole lot 180 degrees in the back garden before putting in the shed.

I was looking at the fergie plough yesterday when i came back to see about a pair of pins but am struggling to picture where to mount top link to, i could have sworn i had seen a picture on here where someone had done it.

Take the headboard off , I am sure if I can get a RSLD trailing plough and a Fordson N on a 14ft trailer there must be a way to sort your problem

, the head board isn't the problem, the problem is with going on backwards I have to turn the whole lot 180 degrees for it to go in the shed, and only have the width of the driveway to do it.

In your original post you say you can't get the whole lot behind the gates.
And that it's only for a couple of days at a time

Why not just leave the gates open ?
Stick a bollard with a little light on at the end of the sticking out plough bit so no one walks into it
?

I don't think there is an answer to your problem, I can't understand why if you reverse on the trailer you want to turn it around when you get home. Hitching the plough across the back of the tractor seems a lot more hassle than just moving the tractor back a bit when you go out in the morning. No noise involved if you pull it back with a ratchet strap , you can leave the front straps in place and only have to tighten two straps on the back. all seems a very easy compared to taking a trailing plough to matches.

this sounds like its a big problem for you,
why not jus back on to the drive, and leave the gates open, it's not as if the gates will make it safe, the gates will only stop an honest man, and them type do steal anyway,
it's only a few nights a year you will have to do this, this will save any hassle, and doing this you can still put the whole outfit in the shed, and the plough will still go under the bench as before,
and with the trailer loaded at the right place, will travel well, and no need for anything else,

I have read the posts, the driveway is 4" longer than the trailer and Land Rover, If the plough goes under the bench in the shed up to the cross shaft it must be a very high bench if it is going to fit under it sideways on the back of the tractor on top the trailer. The headstock must be nearly the same height as the bonnet
