Treating your own seed

Location

This year I grew some spring barley...I’m planning on doing the same again this coming spring
Is it worth having some of my own barley treated instead of buying some?
What will it cost per ton to have it treat and royalties paid
Will only need about 2.5 T
Cheers

FWIW I wouldn't bother treating it if the parent seed was treated and you are happy with germinaton. Barley Seed will be £400 ton and your seed is worth £130 ton. Save yourself £600.
£400/t......!!! You can bet your bottom dollar it will be well North of that figure come early Spring, already getting texts saying some SB seed has sold out, reckon it'll be 550/t. The Agg supply industry will be on the make regardless of our plight.

Hence why I thought I’d keep some of my own

you’ll struggle to get a mobile in for 2.5mt so I’d say your options are dip out the shed or buy in a bit of certified.

You’ll be fine without treating it. Been grown here for years with no treatment with no ill effect. Had treated next to untreated in the same field and no difference in yield at all.
