So when I posted a thread asking Trelleborg V Michelin the majority just about went with Trelleborg. Now reading all these doesn't exactly fill me with loads of confidence so cheers folks 🙃

My own experience half worn Trelleborgs pee'd all over near new Michelins for grip and never thought much of Michelins after 50% not to mention how horrendously they round on the sides.

I do run our pressures much harder as we do a lot of road work and only pottering around chain harrowing sometimes!

I've just mentioned in one of the three tyre threads there seem to be at the moment that we are more than pleased with Continental/Mitas. So much so we've changed like for like again.

I'm told by tyre fitter if doing a lot of roadwork Bridgestone are making some big claims about their tyres now but don't know of any to see if they are any good. Trouble is on roadwork you tend to run them too hard and so they wear unevenly. Tbh a lot of trailers have far too much load on the hitch when loaded which makes you run higher pressures for stability which in turn spoils wear 🙈

We have run Michelin on all our sprayers and most of our tractors for many years now. Had them weighed and pressures recommended (written on the business card of the guy that weighed them). Not had many issues at all. Always managed to get 8000 + hrs out of a set.
Our latest tractor has done 5000 hours on a set of Mach X BIBs and they are shot. Feel fobbed off by the Michelin rep.
Apparently "due to EU regulations there are certain ingredients that they can no longer use which has had a detrimental effect on the longevity of the tyre"

Sprayer tyres are wearing a bit funny. Apparently the pressures are now to high despite running them at the pressure recommended by them and at the lowest pressure that they are recommended to go to. The Michelin man now says he can give us a derogation to run them at lower than recommended pressures.
Michelin always used to stand by their products, but this now looks to be no longer the case.

Tyre giving issues at 5,000hrs it is hard to expect a refund?
There is a big difference when tyres are giving issues around 1,500 hours.
The change of compound is a big issue for tyre manufacturers, but we will see more and more of this sort of thing.

Had a TM 1000 in 710 /75 /42 with roughly 1000 hrs on this past fall basically do the same thing. Was small crack in the tire leaking air, figured we must have ran over something sharp but when we tried to plug it with the string plugs the tread area around the leak would swell. Replaced it with a tm 900 in same size and still haven't heard if it will be warranted.
Always run around 25 psi

Mitas are owned by Trelleborg :ROFLMAO:. I've not had bother with either of them though, the only tyre I've had bother with was a Bkt and it blew up like the 1 in Deerefarmer's picture .

We had trelleborgs on the loader tractor fronts bald at 2500hrs and rears at 3500hrs. Put Ceats on the front and they lasted 1000 hours and bald so this time we have put Nokia in ground kings on the front see how they grip and last.

A neighbour and I both have them on our tractors and get on well with them. Very smooth on the road and grip well in the field, you shouldn’t be disappointed 🙂.

Last loader tractor here had Trelles on and did 6500hrs which I thought was very good. New one has them as well so will see how they do but 1500 hours in and look good. Was peeed of with the TM900 highpower though..

Maybe it's the picture, but I'd be checking the alignment of those wheels

Just resurrecting this thread as I can’t be bothered to find my own thread about Trelleborg.

So after 3000 hours on a replacement 710/75r42 Trelleborg tyre it has failed and left me stranded on side of the road. I will never buy another Trelleborg tyre as long as live.

Would try a warranty claim but after being fobbed off by complete büllshit last time I won’t waste my time.
