thinking of buying a gang mower, cutting my lawns is taking too long, anyone else use a reel mower?
Local school asked if they could put their old gang mowers on our scrap heap. We took them off again, only three of them, each about thirty inches cut. Little bit of grease, oil and adjustment. They run a treat behind the quad bike. Sometimes have to back up a little to get them to start, but by God, you can cut a lot of grass very quickly. I've had a couple of broken windows, several yards away, as they will throw the odd stone up. They leave the lawn in a better condition than a rotary mower and if you do it often enough, the cut grass disappears into the lawn, so less grass gets tramped indoors,

i was thinking along the lines of a triple gang ride on, either a hayter or ransomes. i did contemplate a 5 gang but not sure if that isnt too big,ive got a 72 outfront kubota at the moment and it takes me 2 to 3 hours to cut it all but the problem is there isn"t much in between 6 to 10 foot cut.a triple gang isnt that much wider than what ive got now. Its not open lawns but trees shrubs and rockeries etc to go around as well, really not sure which way to go ,but the grass needs cutting every 4 to 5 days and work comes first.......
