Trima 1490 Loader Specs ?

Hi all.

New to forum, new to tractor ownership after 20 years of nagging husband for one to help me with horse chores, field maintenance etc !

We've just bought a 4wd Ford/NH 4630, manufacturered early 1992, fitted with a Trima 1490, narrow loader.

I'm struggling to find out how much I can lift with it via the usual google searches and wonder if anyone would have the spec for it please.

It has come with the most enormous bucket (almost big enough to put a horse in it :) but all I really need to be able to do is stack large round haylage bales, ideally 3 high/ take one out to the fields in the winter. No 3rd service fitted for a bale grab yet so bale spike in the short term ....

If you look on eBay, the seller v-t-m has some trima brochures/ manuals for sale, your model is quoted in the advert. I believe your loader is approximately 1.4 tonnes lift. I would be very wary of stacking haylage bails three high with a light tractor like the one you have, especially if you have not done this before, Angus.

Thank you for your quick reply Angus - I've pointed hubby to a couple of links for re-prints of manuals - we're moving bales in the next few days and wanted to check we weren't going to overload it by guessing that 1490 might indicate what we can lift. Have a tame farmer with big boy tractor and bale stacker moving them in to a new shed for us but I'll be dropping them off the stack.

I have a 1490 Trima on my tractor. It's going to be fine to lift the bales weight-wise, but perhaps might struggle with the height to get three high tin can style - assuming you're meaning rounds. I do it with hay, but have to spike the bottom bale at the base and have the loader on full stretch. With a grab you'll have a bit more reach, but don't assume anything too high.

Oh, and as for design spec - why not give Trima a call? They were great help when I got mine, I'm sorry that I just can't remember the numbers any more...
