have a Trimble 250 which I want to link up to a new tulip fertiliser sower ( branded Teagle on mainland uk) to supply a gps speed input.

Looking at news ag talk forum I think I need something like this cable which plugs into the deutsch connector on the Trimble power lead and has a 7 pin connector on the other end similar to the one in the tractor of which the sower has the female end coming from the tulip control box.

Here is the pinout for the 250 depending on what speed input your spreader is looking for you will use pins 5, 6 and 7 for RS232 outputting GPS data or pin 9 if the spreader is looking of a simulated radar signal (with this you may also need to ground to pin 7 but I haven't ever used this signal so Im not sure)

Pretty straightforward, you'd need a Deutsch DT 12-way plug if there isnt one already there, and 2 of size-16 socket pins into the back of the Trimble. For simulated radar speed 2 wires needed, one from pin 9 and then pin 8 for ground.

See Trimble cabling guide, p.23

On the cable end for the spreader you would need a 7-pin signal connector and wire up to pin 1 (radar speed input) and pin 7 (ground, centre pin).

See for circular 7-pin connectors:

Cheers for that
Where did you get the info on the 7 pin connector end

Pin assignment listed in the back of my tractor manual, but also available online if you lookup "ISO11786 pin assignment" online. This is the complete pinout (not all pins/signals necessarily present on every tractor).

1. Radar - True Ground Speed signal (actual forward speed of the tractor). 130 pulses per metre driven
2. Wheel Sensor - Theoretical Ground Speed signal (product of tractor drive wheel rotational speed and the rolling wheel circumference). 130 pulses per metre driven
3. PTO signal - Rear PTO rotational speed. 6 pulses per PTO revolution
4. Linkage In/Out signal - In-work /Out-of-Work (binary signal indicating three-point hitch is below/in-work or above/out-of-work and adjustable switching threshold). 12v/0v
5. Linkage Position signal - Position of the tractor three point linkage in the vertical plane between its lowest and highest points. 0 to 10V
6. +12V - positive power supply. +Ub
7. Earth - supply ground connection

This is looking into at the socket:
