Range point won't put the tramlines in the same place year on year. RTK will do that so if you're doing controlled traffic its ideal as you can swap AB between machines and it will always be in the same place. Also RTK is 2cm accuracy pass to pass, and rangepoint is 15cm though I think people say it is a lot better than 15cm in practice. If you are doing bed forming for spuds etc the RTK is the best option, though people make lesser accuracy setups work well. It will always be dead straight its just how accurate the next bout will be. So if using markers you can line up on the marker line, nudge your AB line to that, and then set off. There are so many different options around its mind boggling! As @Chae1 says rangepoint is good enough and I think its only £265 a year with first year for free.
Thanks , that explains things a bit better , but rangepoint must be way better than 150mm as that wouldn't be any use for drilling
Maybe some rangepoint users will advise the actual, accuracy

My 750 and EZ-Pilot using Rangepoint will sit on the line flicking between 0-4cm around the line, difference to RTK is the time it takes to get upto accurate signal levels after starting, how quick it finds signal again after going under a tree etc and if you go away for an hour for lunch the line might have moved by 10cm, go away overnight and it might have moved by 30cm. Whereas RTK will be in the same place 12 months later. I use it for drilling mainly, with a strip-till drill its absolutely fine, even if your using a drill with more normal row spacings i.e. combi drill etc it will still be more accurate than any driver can be IMO.

Warranty is worth a bit, as i had a system off Soil essentials and the 750 touch screen went wrong after a year and had to be sent away for a new screen. Luckily Soil Essentials lent me a replacement screen while mine was fixed.
With a second hand screen, you could be looking at an expensive repair!! Depends if you are prepared to take the gamble.
Remember you will need a steering wheel boss (platform kit) which could be £300 to £400.

There's one listed on Shaun Van den bos' website (part of Wright's Register?) .
2014 model for £4000. Probably not enough difference between new?

But it is unlocked to rtx, this unlock is something close to a 1 k. So in total you have near 2 k difference from new. i f you negotiate well, perhaps it is even more. I bought exact kit for 3500 pounds last winter from a JD dealer.

Rtx rangepoint doesn't need an unlock code like omnistar or rtk. To get it you pay an annual sub of around £260 for the year. New screens did at one time come with a years free sub.
Depends when rangepoint sub expires on a used screen.
However Rtx centre point requires screen to be unlocked to omnistar for around £1500, then annual sub of around £1100. (For quick version)

Ok, that makes sense... I used to think that range point rtx also requires it. This is my screen, dealer said I need only 1 unlock towards rtk

.....as in selling or buying? They said brand new would be about 12k from them

Speak direct to Trimble I bought mine at Lamma last year. 750 screen with easy pilot and years subscription to rtx fully fitted to tractor and all operators trained how to use it £5000 + vat
