Trimble GFX-750 whats it like ???

Location

I started this thread to that should answer your question shouldnt it ?
my thread is about the GFX-750 the newest screen Trimble offer not the beamish CFX-750
Sorry, I had a bad spelling error, my intention was to say GFX as in the title.

Yes, it was fair to assume GFX-750 but as you were asking for opinions about the GFX-750 and did not mention the screen model in the later message, I wanted to double-check that you are not just considering to purchase this GFX-750. (Why do you actually care about the opinions of fellow GFX owners?)

wonder what the diff would be to change things to this then if its needed??

Time to ask the Rep me thinks.
I would think if your not growing veg or looking to do serious controlled traffic farming then for normal arable farming Rangepoint RTX is just about all you need. We use it on a CFX 750. I dont feel like we need to upgrade our signal accuracy but I would like another steering system on a 2nd tractor/combine so that whatever job we are doing it is being done using autosteer.

Its funny you saying that but the Rep pretty much told me the same thing.
Ive always thought you had to have RTK for drilling but apparently not.
id like to think after 25years of drilling am pretty good, but on slopes across fields ive got overlapping most probs
the same as everyone else does & i wanted to just improve on that really.
No Veg or CTF here & there never will be.

Cheers (y)
The lad who changed my mind on drilling with GPS has the older CFX screen i think but its all full RTK & it really
did make a diff even on a mostly flat field being a 32ac one it moved the tramlines easily by 4/5metres by the time he had
put the last couple into place compared to where iam sure they have been in the past, then as some of you will know
i use a GPS controlled KV GeoSpread Fert Spreader & it fills in the map when your spreading & in this field where he
had drilled in was end to end perfect & even on the free SATS that the spreader uses id never seen that on any of my
drilling.

The way I'm thinking of it now I know Rangepoint RTX is all we need here is that if our current signal is £260/yr and Centerpoint is say a rough figure of £600/yr more, over 10 years that £6000 would pay for another system installed on another tractor, (All give or take a few £ here or there).Which would then be more beneficial to us than a small accuracy increase on just the one system on one tractor.

Yeah i know what you mean.
Thankfully i only need this on one Tractor atm.
and have no other Tractors thats AutoGuide ready unless i buy something newer & atm thats also rather unlikely.

thanks so the rep wasnt filling me full of stories then (y)(y)(y)

Na , pretty decent , but can move when filling drill hopper but it's easy to drive onto line (per guidance ) and check marker, single button to correct and away , don't be tempted to touch steering when on line as you will move that time and for next line , just have confidence in system , you can later steering aggressiveness on move for side slopes etc

i'll still be using markers for tramlines & headlands which are often no straight so may be sown manually unsure yet

depends if you want to start drilling from hedge or start by striking a straight line out from the dyke, normaly put headland tramline in first then run a straight line if not on a straight dyke, then just do headlands manually with markers unless it's a long straight dyke, gotta put the half width run in anyway so easier just to do it with markers

RTK subscription is £500, Centrepoint fast is £650, but there is a big difference in system cost I'm assuming.
The difference in the CFX 750 and GFX 750system is night and day. I wish they had called the GFX something different - why only change one letter in a name when it so different. Why not KFX 900 or something.
Unless someone is on a very tight budget, I cannot see them selling many CFX screens in the future.

New Holland are calling the gfx750 a xcn1050 which I’ve just put in not sure to stick with rtx or go rtk

i agree & this GFX-750 on RTX is way cheaper than the CFX-750 which was also going to be on RTX that i had a previous
quote for last summer. The Roof Mounted NAV900 is poss the game changer aswell as the neater tablet type of screen.
