Trimble rtx to rtk parts

Hopefully some of you knowledgeable guys can give me some info as it seems to be a bit of minefield to someone who's not up to speed on such things!

Scenario is a MF steer ready tractor running on trimble rangepoint rtx through nav 900 receiver and trimble screen, now I've just bought a used Newholland for the feed wagon so don't require gps but it's got a nav 900 running through the cnh integrated armrest screen which appears to show the gps as being RTK.

So is the rtk unlock codes only in the nav 900 and if i swap it over could i get rtk in the MF or do i also need to pay extortionately to unlock the trimble screen? Gather i may need to swap a modem also? If so where would i find that in the Newholland?

Probably not straightforward or worth the hassle but I've got access to a free rtk signal so tempting to investigate.

Is it a nav900? It could be an ag392. Look identical but pretty sure they can't be interchanged.

If your New Holland is unlocked to RTK I'd assume it would be using the telematics PCM to supply the corrections.
On the Intelliview it you go into toolbox and GPS, should tell you the RTK source. The ntrip details will be in there also.

The one on the newholland which i think is rtk unlocked is labelled both NH ag392 and trimble nav900 according to the stickers on it, will need to check the one on the MF.

The trimble screen in the MF is a XCN 1050- does this need to be unlocked to rtk or will it just work if the receiver is already unlocked?

Thanks

The ag392 is a bit of a odd thing but that's right it's also labelled as a nav900 on the Trimble decal. I was told the firmware was different in these so could not be interchanged.
Either way you have nothing to loose by plugging it in and seeing if it recognises it and if you can select RTK.

As far as I'm aware the RTK licence unlock is in the receiver so you shouldn't have to do anything to the XCN apart from configure it.

Thanks for that, i'll try plugging in to see. You say the NH would be using the telematics pcm for the corrections so i assume i'd need to get a modem or something to get the correction signal working in the Massey? The Massey does have telematics also but no idea about connecting into them.

What sort of configuration would i need to do to the XCN?

Not entirely sure on the XCN. The 392 you would generally have a trimble RV55 modem feeding into it.
I think if you have a internet connection on the XCN via a modem or phone tethering this will collect the ntrip data.

If you go to the correction source page on the XCN you should be able to select RTK, think it may be called VRS in the trimble screen.

So i plugged the ag392 in and it comes up on the xcn screen as a nav 900 and gives me the options to select RTK, VRS, RTX etc but when i select any of them including even gnss then it doesn't pick up any satellites at all! Am i missing something or would this correspond to the firmware being different as you were told?

Saw this exact same behaviour on a 1050 with a new nav900 controller (unlocked for RTK etc) on Saturday. What gives ? The old one picked up satellites fine, the new one didn't want to know.

(And having read further up, I suspect it was the same Massey I was looking at :p )

As mentioned above the AG392 and the NAV900 (supplied with an XCN1050/GFX750) are not interchangeable. Just to confuse things further, when AG392 were first used on CNH tractors they were branded as a NAV900 & looked identical to the xcn/gfx version. Initially they were released for CNH ezipilot pro, which used the CNH version NAV900, wired into the factory intelliview4/pro700 screen with the SAM-200 (electric steering wheel motor drive) and later on they became the direct replacement for the end-of-life AG372 and were eventually branded as a AG392.

I understand it as they are technically both a NAV900, they actually use the same part number unlocks & subscriptions but one is factory locked to suit Trimble displays and the other the CNH intelliview/pro700 displays.

Thanks for that info, seems ridiculous how complicated it all is even within the same brand.
