OK this has probably been covered but looking to upsize our mixer to twin so we can feed once a day instead of both milkings. Been quoted 8 cow per cube but heads spinning a bit. Would appreciate peoples average loads for a 14 and 16 cube. Tia

Well it's up to 120, grass silage, blend, molasses and mins. Probably be adding a big bale of silage this winter. Got a ancient 9 cube triolet the now bought second hand and it's done me proud plus like the tech on them so want to stick with.

We've a twin 18 cube triolet with bogie axle, be 2 year old now and feeds 125 at one farm and 100 at the other. Far more stable on the road than the previous 16 cube single axle which lasted us 9 years till it was worn out. Went for the extra capacity so we weren't on the road with a fully loaded feeder and when the herd expands it'll cope with it. It also chops straw and round bale silage for a dry cow mix no problem. A great feeder.

Yeah the dry cow ration with big bale silage and straws a big thing here. Do you have a twin speed gearbox, thinking ill get away with a single speed? What weight of mixing do you get in?

Got a single speed box on ours with 125 hp on front, only time you need to watch when starting it up is if you've went to the other farm with over 7ton of wetter silage in it. Dry cow mix is usually between 3-4 ton which also has chopped silage and some whole crop in it, it is quite full till it gets it chopped up tho that is a whole bale of straw in it.

I would definitely recommend a 2 speed box if going for 18 cube or over. Burnt out pto clutch packs on our 6480 from starting ours.
