Triton direct seed drill

What depth did you drill that at ?

Seeding blades were in about 3 inches to drop the seed at around an inch and the covering blades would be about 2 inches deeper to push enough soil sideways to cover the seed. As you can see in that picture the tractor dropped so the drill was lifted to pull through and due to having no speed the seeding slots remain open. That was direct into stubble so had we cultivated then it would of dried up that wet hole but then we would of had a field of wheat now in drought conditions rather than a field of wheat thats got away very well due to moisture in the soil.

:ROFLMAO: I'm fast coming to the conclusion that DD doesn't fix anything to be honest.
i agree with this, i have tried for years with my soil doe's not work with disks triton only direct drill to work my soil just get to solid the more years it is direct drilled i now have well above average organic matter,my tests have gone from low amber to high amber, putting in chopped straw, cover crops and organic matter, soil now in very good condition. as my test's show.

Good luck to anybody who’s not done any spring drilling yet. I’m planting stewardship today and my god it’s hard. Heavy soil admittedly but it’s cracked all over. Very small amount of moisture. If your running disc drills get some weights on the frame.

Nelson winter wheat sown 30/10/12 followed spring wheat (straw removed). Thankful for the 44mm of rain last week but it’s not closed the cracks up so we’ll take another 44mm if possible.
