Windows Defender has isolated a trojan that has made its home in an excel spread sheet.
Windows is quite happy to get rid of it but i don't want to loose the 5 years work that's gone into writing the spread sheet. I do have earlier copies but wouldn't have a clue about where all the bugs and changes ive done to it over the last few months.

So how can i clean the file without losing the data?

Excel spread sheets been written from scratch over last 5 years, no idea where trojan has come from, windows defender found it on routine scan.
It was same time i was trying to back up to external hard drive. this may not have any relation to it but did all happen on same day so possible link. External hard drive has only ever been plugged into this laptop so all data has come from it originally.
