I think Trump will walk it. I think there is more of the 'shy Tory' effect over there than there was over here (ignoring the Tory bit and replace with Republican). Biden couldn't run a shoe shop, never mind the USA. I understand that he is just a stand in for Harris but I don't think the US public are in any mind to fall for that. Globalism is failing and there is going to be pain.

Latest polls give Biden a lead and over 365 electoral college votes, trump way behind with 163

The % vote is not all that important. It's where they are voting. Last time they gave Clinton a 98% chance of winning. There are plenty of people who understand the system way better than me suggesting that Trump will win with ease. I hope he does. These globalist tosspots need stopping.

why? Many many millions of people have been lifted out of poverty by it.

Their are plenty of people who don't like the idea of lifting anyone out of poverty, if it may even remotely affect their place in the trough.
I am fully aware that globalism isn’t perfect and corporations have done disproportionately well out of it. But this shouldn’t negate the fact that the life choices of millions of the worlds poorest has been enhanced especially women. Leading to lower birth rates and a chance that population growth will not lead to the ultimate destruction of the human species

@farmerclare and I had a small bet of a quid as to which would come out best in the election, I said Biden and Clare went for Tump.
I am not sure we should involve the word win with this election
If I had a vote I think I would save the petrol and not bother with the drive to the village hall.
Our choice was bad enough but this knocks it in to a top hat from what I can see.
All IMHO

I think Biden will win! But not by as much as the polls suggest. I could be quite a narrow margin.
If he does win narrowly, then Trump will contest it in the Trump packed Supreme Court. No doubt, the white supremacist militia will flex their tattooed muscles.
It could make for a long and dangerous winter over there.

A good start would be to educate people into the ways of avoiding poverty. Firstly the point about reducing the birth rate is most salient and does not just apply to third world countries, Contraception for females is widely available in the developed world and yet women choose to have more children than they can support. That is careless, irresponsible behaviour and it is rife in this country as well as many other places. These stupid people are then first to raise their hand and plead poverty and hardship for their children, expecting handouts from government and general public. Just cast an eye over current campaigns.
I am all for giving help where it is genuinely needed provided the recipient has taken reasonable steps to avoid the pitfalls and has a genuine interest in improving their position and help themselves.
