Any one know is this right the trusses are bolted to the timber I thought it had to be bolted to the rs6 I putting up a Dutch barn and wasint sure was this the right way thanks

I'm pretty sure that you'll find that there's a bracket fixed to the top of the stanchion to which the truss is bolted. The bracket sits between the ends of the timbers, a common mistake with this is that the timbers are butted right up to the bracket leaving no room for expansion.
 
We used to put a flat plate on top of staunchion sit timber on top of that then truss on top of timber with matching plate and bolt down through the lot with 4 inch long bolts sandwiching the timber between the 2 plates. I hope that makes sense
