you can drive a tractor and you can use the internet - open the farmers weekly job page and email a contractor in newzealand. It is easier being abroard than being at home - I am not joking.

- all your contracting team will feel the same as you - all foreign, all new, no idea where anything is, all shite scared. They will have no idea who you are - you can be who you want to be.

Send some pictures home and your Dad will be proud

Its your life - live it, your a long time dead.
sell your sheep, get a plane ticket off internet and go.

Let them know a month beforehand that your having time away.

Drive a tractor abroard and you will have a sun tan, £10k in your back pocket.

You will never get another chance.
When you live live on the edge, you dont have time to worry - you have to get on with it.

Don't say no when you mean yes - the best advice somebody gave me.

I was a tractor driver on £3.50 /hr working at nextdoor farm. I had never been on a plane before, never had a passport, never been further than a few miles from home. I opened the farmers weekly, emailed a contractor, had a chat on the phone, organised visa and he booked me a one way flight to newzealand. He collected me off the plane and I was driving a tractor that evening.

It was the single best thing I ever did

You would not have started this thread unless you wanted to do something - live your own life - its yours.

Nice hoggets will, the shed looks fancy too, as for making a living i would say get in under all the young farmer schemes/grants possible. There is one where you can £1000 a year for 5 years if you are under 40, nice topup of money. Also btw i noticed you are from omagh, im from gortin myself.

Just go to NZ as said before, I'd have stayed there if we didn't farm.

You'll come back with no ties, and a different outlook, hopefully your family will miss and appreciate what you do and your opinions.

Nice one @will6910 , remember the more you try for yourself the more you will learn and the more confident you will become, confidence in yourself will lead to others being confident in you! Nothing is more satisfying then looking around your stock and seeing it thrive and thinking" yeah, I did that"
And remember not all the answers can be found abroad!
