Pto won't engage on new to me TS90 2wd. Fuse is OK. The switch has volts when off but they go when switch is on.
Rev counter is working OK which can be a linked problem the inter tells me.
Anywhere else I should look?

Thanks

Is the speed selector actually in a gear and not in neutral. Quite common for cables to strech, it may appear in gear on the handle but its not actually engaged

No fender switches either. It has a 5amp fuse, big relay, an on off switch, a light, a solenoid is all I can find. I guess pull wheel off and try get at solenoid.

just after you start the tractor rev the engine a bit, then engage the pto.

On our NH TM the pto will not engage unless you rev the engine just after starting it, I can only guess that in revving the engine you activate the various circuits and things.

If it has like 40ser a big blue relay in fuse box it may be faulty but don't rush out and buy one cause they ain't cheap, find someone with that type in their fuse box and swap it just to check, tacho gets reading from alternator and if you have relay that also gets a signal, also check if you have a switch on seat so if pto is on it will cut out when getting off, does the pto light work, if you want to check pto run a fused wire live to pto solenoid their will be a double connector one live one earth that will check if solenoid is ok,

Was reading the W terminal on the alternator does for pto and tacho. The revometer on dash works. The engine hours do not though. When I disconnected the W terminal the Rev counter stopped working.

There is a big relay too. I have a TM but it doesn't have a big pto relay to swap. Will see if I can find a lender.

I dont know if pto light works. I'll have a check. But at the minute it does not light up.

I'll try solenoid with a wire. I'll also check the seat for a switch. Thanks

The light should come on when you pull out the switch knob. Check with a multimeter that you're getting 13.8-14.4V from the alternator across the battery first. The tacho may be working and the battery light may be going out but there may not be enough voltage or amperage going to the pto circuit.

I'm getting 13 to 14 volts from the alternator to battery. I'm getting 7 to 8 volts from the W terminal. Is that enough from that terminal? I'm getting 13.5 v at the PTO swith at one of the 2 earth's at about 8 at the other earth.

I took out the light and the light was blown. I crossed the light with some wire and got the PTO to move. But it is only moving very slowly. But progress!!

The solenoid was OK. It was a faulty pto relay which was working intermittently which was v annoying. Got a replacement and off she went
