Tub mixer problems

Evening,
I’ve just started out using a new to me kv silo king duo 22m3 twin auger tub mixer, and I’m having a few teething problems.
First off, on a small mix (1500kg total, 1t of maize silage, 250kg of rolled maize 100kg of blend, 150l of water) it won’t mix properly as it doesn’t cover the augers, the maize and blend just sit on top of the augers.
Secondly, it won’t empty properly, there’s always 100-150kg left in it, and when feeding goats that’s a fair percentage of one groups mix.
Any body had any similar issues? How did you solve them? I’ve considered just welding a piece of flat plate on the bottom of the auger to help with emptying, but it won’t cure my mixing issue.
Any ideas welcome.
TIA

I’m afraid you’ve bought one far too big by the sound of it. A single auger model would have suited much better for that size of mix and up to around 4 tonne , about 12 cube. As for emptying, put it into 1000pto for a minute that usually gets most of it out

Sounds like your feeder is too big for what you're doing. I've a single siloking and need at least 1000kgs in it to get a mix and better with 2000kgs.
There'll always be some left sitting on the flights of a vertical auger. I try to mix for a batch that needs meal first, then stores next and dry cows last.
Easiest would be to zero the weigh cells after all that it throws out comes out.

sure the one i used to use had two speeds which could be changed from the control box in the cab,put it in the hare and it will fire it all out👍

Just to clarify, I bought a 22m3 because I fill it with my bigger mix, it’s only my smaller batch that I’m having trouble with, however the emptying issue is all the time, I’ve tried high gear on the mixer, not tried 1000pto yet but as far as I can tell it won’t help much and the bottom flight on the auger simply misses is all and doesn’t sweep around the bottom of the tub

Might be worn out then. Speak to Richard at RS agri, he's a mine of information on tub mixers, not just the ones he makes either.

Do all the smaller mixes with a higher speed as very low loading on gearbox. As auger wears it leaves more of a gap so don’t be afraid to add metal to help. Might be worth plating auger while you’re at it if getting thin. Much cheaper than a pair of new augers

I’m thinking that’s the solution, though they’re not worn, machine hasn’t done much and it’s only a couple years old. Thinking of widening the plate on the bottom of the auger and adding a wing to help it sweep out
