Here is another track that is half a century old and the last ever version of it played live (RIP Rick Wright!). Gilmour won't play it ever again without him.
I can't make up my mind which I prefer. But if either version were to be played on the radio in my tractor, the speakers would be smoking.
Fecking Awesome!

Töne live in pompeii blows it out of the water ?
Dark room a few beers and lots of volume ?
Takes me back to my very misspent youth everytime

The original Live in Pompeii version was brilliant. A fantastic venue, considering it hadn’t long been reclaimed from the Volcanic ash of Vesuvius. It was an extraordinary live recording for its time and well worth watching many times.

However, for me that last ever live version in Gdańsk not long before Rick Wright’s death was his perfect epitaph. That perfect duo ending of him on keyboards and Gilmour on Guitar says it all.

The hole track is a very powerful and moving work of art. Slowly building up to a point of no return, then exploding before a return to calmness. The first ever Eargasmic peace of music? Certainly the best ever!

Unbelievable that it is now 50 years old.

I heard a great story recently about Pink Floyd that will interest you @Xerion. Mrs Two Tone and I were on holiday in Cyprus and made friends with a couple from Dresden. We were talking about great music and he told me that a friend of his wanted to buy the LP of The Wall, but was unable to in East Germany because it was banned (I wonder why?)! So he went to Poland to get it. It cost him a month’s wages.
On the way back, he crossed the border with it stuffed up the back of his shirt. He thought he had got through the border check, when one of the Police called him back and frisked him. The album was confiscated and it cost him another month’s wages as a fine.
After a few months he tried again, this time successfully. But that album cost him 3 months wages in total!
Dedicated to the Floyd or What?

Just watching on Yesterday channel the Meat Loaf story and of course that leads to 'Bat out of Hell"

or the ultimate for a late friday night combining is a full on hour and half Mix from Fat Boy Slim. The only slight flaw to this is you can't bloody sleep when you get home as your head is wired with 'Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat!' But do does that combine go!
