Tupping 2017

No pictures of the squad, I was pushed for time today so just wanted to get on.

All tups are out with the ewes (2 Suffolk's have been out for a while, and are almost finished). The best Texel to 40 Lleyns, and the 2 pure Texels ewes. The other 5 Texels to the other 210 inbye Lleyns...
4 Lleyns (2 very old boys which are having their final fling before retirement ) and the 2 NCCs away to my 'hill' ewes, 250 Lleyns. It's early for them but one of the NCC and an old Lleyn got smell of the ewes and were very hard to keep away, didn't matter where I put them :banghead: so my hand was forced, as they were working anyway

The TexX week ones drawn out, 53% mated in the first 8 days. We had 58% of muleX mated in 8 days to.

2 BFL ram lambs, 1 BFL yearling and 1 BFL broker plus the new Exlana on the left raddled this morning ready to head out.

The 4 BFL's walking across the field hoping to "f*** um all" - if anyone knows the young and old bull on a hill joke they'll get this comment.

The first ewe he meets he strikes!

I’m not entirely convinced you’ve put the raddle paste in the right place on those BFL’s.:scratchhead:
The mountain goat - Ho Chi Mingh puts his legs up on their back so he gets a better view all the time :(

@Nithsdale Farmer Blue on the heads so we know which ones are Rams in the flock, the lines are to do with which flock they were heading to as we were splitting 10 BFL's up into 3 flocks.

I was offered a Primera to try free of charge, so thought I would try him on some ewe lambs to see if the performance matches the hype.
View attachment 593806View attachment 593808We'll see how he performs compared to one of those "overfed Builth" Charollais tups....

It’d be no fun if we didn’t try new things occasionally(y).
Are you brave enough to use him on all of them, or splitting them in half to do a trial?

No , I'm not that brave [emoji38] I'll give him half and the Charollais the other half to see if they do a better job than texels
