Will I be alright tupping ewes on stubble turnips? Would like to here about any pros and cons associated with the job. They can have a 16 acre grass field as run back. Permanent pasture but won't have a lot of grass on it.

Should be good grub, but make sure they don't suffer any mineral/TE deficiencies because they are on it, or it won't matter what energy is in the crop.

I've been thinking about this as well but have decided to put up a lot more electric fence to make the grass last instead. Anyway that's not what you asked make sure they are well transitioned onto the turnips before the tups go in not turn the sheep onto it the day the rams go out.
Might get away with it if there is a big grass runback for them though they will transition themselves onto it.
