A friend of mine has a 250, its heating large water tanks which in turn blows out heat with some kind of blow heaters, His two tractors are very cosy and content in the open door shed🤣🤣🤣
Now that should be criminalised. I suspect it is already, if the lawmakers looked hard enough. Doesn’t the heat have to be usefully used?

Still possible to receive FiTs on second hand turbines though
I believe some were approved but had to be totally re engineered so it was only the tower which was technically second hand.
I could never find a site for one which could get approval, but hearing some of the horror stories I am very happy with that.

Danish wind industry history lesson.

There is loads more but the above gives you the bones of how Denmark created a wind industry and the rest of Europe followed.
Yep, I’ve skim read that now. Nowhere can I see that substantiates your claim that the industry was EU funded. It all seems to be driven by Danish government capital grants in the early days and consumer levies in the latter.

Where’s the evidence that it’s EU money? Or did you just make that part up?

I was under the impression new nuclear power would get the guaranteed strike price of ÂŁ90/MWh for a set period (I presume to help offset the capital cost and interest of building them initially) and after that it stopped?

Once they are built it's an endless money train as they can crank out juice 24/7 and their cost of 'fuel' is tiny.
I was under the impression wind turbines can be refurbished but that the blades needed changing as they wear out and are abraded over time.

Which bit of capital grant scheme did you not understand. Any capital grant scheme by any EU member has to be approved by the EU and comes out of the EU subsidy pot for that country. Did you not listen to one of the main reasons why we have come out of the EU is so we can determine which industries we want to financially support without going to the EU to get approval. If you want evidence go find it yourself and stop wasting my time.

So you got nothing then? FWIW, I am given UK government capital grant funding that’s nothing to do with the EU, so you post is clearly wrong.

If thats what you think then ignorance is bliss. If your serious in delving into the workings of the EU then funding of wind turbines came under the EU Economic Recovery Plan. Quite frankly I am not into another round of you slagging me off.

Not slagging, genuinely interested - I'm a details man, and like to understand things. Confused also - according to this the EU Economic Recovery Plan was launched in 1981, but this states that Danish wind turbine capital subsidies were phased out in 1981. I can find nothing to state that the grants were EU/ EEC funded, and (as I wrote before) I'm pretty certain that not all UK state aid comes from EU funds, albeit it would (quite rightly IMHO) need EU agreement for a member state to give aid to an industry/ company/ etc..

Are you for real. Do you actually understand what size of chocolate teapot windmill your talking about back in 1981. Real turbine funding and growth started around 2009 with massive injection of funds by the EU through the EU Economic Recovery Plan.

And now I’m even more confused. According to your history paper (post #57, all costs post 2009 have been covered by the consumer through levies. That doesn’t tie up with the paid by the EU assertion you make.

For a start its not my history paper and I am certainly not that gullible enough to believe everything it says when I can easily find examples to the contrary.

Forgive my shorthand - not your paper, but the history paper you cited.

As for this example - that's a bank loan, not a capital subsidy, so not sure it's actually contrary - at least with respect to the "capital subsidies phased out in 1981" part.

I fear we are drifting off topic though, all I asked was for the story behind 'The EU paying for' the turbines that were then re-used in the UK. I'm sure that you're convinced that's true, but you have to agree there's not much evidence of that out there, and pretty much everything you've cited as evidence has actually suggested it's not.

Your missing the point. The EU paid for the original new turbines and UK consumers have paid again for the same turbines which are now secondhand. Anywhere else in UK secondhand turbines have to stand on there own feet with only electric export sales to finance them and no subsidy from consumers. To compare with tractors is rediculous as I dont contribute to your tractor but every NI wind turbine receiving Fits is being subsidised by UK consumers.
Tractors are twice the price they should be due to eu subsidies
