Turbo Reconditioning

has any body had any success with getting turbos reconditioned.

I'm looking to get a turbo from a Cummins QSC engine as fitted to an 8250 fastrac reconditioned. Anybody know of any good companies to use, preferably in the northeast, all the bones I've found really want to look at is small car turbos!

Have you priced up a new one, I fitted a new one to a New Holland and a new Garrett was only £300 more than a recon - no brainer

I'll try phoning the turbo-charger solutions today.

@Grouse my first question to them would be to ask for a worse case scenario quote, if the injectors that our dealer has replaced are anything to go by a new replacement could be 3-4 times the price

Never thought of looking on eBay, that would be just slightly more than half the price of our dealer. @TripleSix where would I buy a cartridge from??

This company is excellent, had my variable vane AgriBuggy Turbo rebuilt, phoned them a 9am and it was picked up by 11 by courier, they took it back, diagnosed what caused failure and repaired it. All very reasonably priced too.

Thanks for all the info, I haven't got the turbo off the tractor yet!!! Might be middle of next week before I do, will the part number be cast into it?

That sounds cheap,it cost me £320 for the bmw one to be reconditioned but that is a variable vane one.

It is cheap I buy surplus if I can find it and currently have a couple of hx40s and hx35s
