We're definitely still in the eighties here - or earlier.
About 1985 - every time I complain about the rain here, I am told "Ah but it's not as bad as 1985." Must have been awful weather.

Yes, but what I'm getting at is they did the work without aircon/ airseats/ suspension/ GPS / wankio transmissions:LOL:.....etc, etc. And worked just as long hours too.

Tractors reached their zenith around the year 2000 IMO. Some powershift, LHS, aircon, and airseat.
What else do you need really ?
Old tractors are responsible for most of us of a certain age having bad backs and being half deaf.
I like the comfort of an air seat, cab suspension, air con etc, and actually being able to hear the radio.
Blue tooth is great. I can even have nice chats with @YorkshireAndrew while ploughing

After spending days on a 699 hedgecutting give me back my 7618 with CVT love it plus cab and front axle supsenion getting to old to be rattled about. Hate manual gearboxes now next car will be a auto.

Mmm, 1985, the last year that the college would let me go. I'd near enough done all the courses that they had on offer and wouldn't let me go on any of the equine ones
Yep '85 was the year of Live Aid, we had a white South African on our course and when we started in the November he wasn't overly happy with the amount of aid that was going to be given to the indigenous peoples and what very few remember was that there was a natural disaster elsewhere in the world with a volcano erupting in Columbia killing over 20,000 people he turned round and said "God looked down and saw that the bloody Westerners were saving all the starving in Africa so to balance things out we'll have a volcano go off somewhere else"
There wasn't a lot of political correctness in a lot of the South Africans back then
