Tv licence

So they could maybe do without the licence fee, or go subscription based if they pushed the studios a bit harder and trimmed some fat?
The BBC has a total budget of ~£5bn & BBC Studios brings in ~£200m - raising that much higher would require focusing much more on global content rather than generaly British content. Likewise, going subscription based would involve concentrating on broadest appeal in order to maximise on subscriptions. The "fat" that would have to be cut would mostly be things like local radio & news, along with some of the more specialised content because the income streams would be needed to support the content with the biggest draw, rather than the current system that allows a broad range of materials to be produced.

Packed in my license just as Brexit was beginning, not watching the constant negativity and propaganda actually improves your mindset!!

Careful what you wish for, you'll miss it when it's all gone commercial with programmes between the ads. At £3 /week it's worth every penny to have ad free TV. Like many on here, I've travelled a bit and I'd say UK TV is easily the best in the world, and in our gloomy old winter nights we need some cheer..........:)
In YOUR opinion, you muppet. As many people have already stated but clearly, you can't read. There are thousands of choices to watch and I don't see that many ads. If you want to wave the flag for the paedo loving British Bolshevik Corp, do it elsewhere.

Havnt bought one for at least 2 years since they stopped it for pensioners mam used to get it free im not buying one
There's a campaigning organisation for old people called Silver Voices who are encouraging those over 75 not to buy a licence. Membership is only £8 a year which I am ashamed to say I haven't paid yet. Worthy of our support and they do a lot of good. Not paying for a licence anyway.
