Morning,

I think this is the right section to post for this tractor. I’m looking around for a tw35 for working at home, problem is I can’t find much information about them. Anyone had any experience with them any pros and cons I’d only be running a round baler, a wrapper and some cultivation kit.

Cheers Tom.

Baling yes as we have sone steep awkward hills to go around and having that extra power always helps. Wrappings just to keep it busy if needed I’ll probably use the 390 more for that in reality.

Pros:
You will get a lot of work done by the end of each day.

Cons:
The driver will be absolutely knackered by the end of that day!

Some had the habit of ripping the top link jaws out of the casting when using a heavy plough.
Some were known to crack the gearbox casting underneath. If you notice an oil leak drip under the tractor as you come to it in the morning, get rid of it before all the oil ends up on the floor in a rush during that day!

Fantastic good looking machine - looks how a tractor should look - only the turning circle and slow road speed would put me off

After a few months your could leg press 300kg, with one leg!
I loved my grandads old tw15 when I was a boy, until it came to actually driving it!

Pros’......

No ECU.
No DPF.
No SCR.
No TWC.
No EGR.
No Variable geometry turbo.

Cons’.....

I can’t find one !!
Cons
No front or cab suspension and no air seat and noisy compared to newer tractors and of course no power shuttle.
But it should be driven with a day long smile .
Major down side of any classic Ford tho is that they don't actually look like they are powered by a diesel engine but more like an open fire burning old lorry tyres!!!!!

Turning circle of a supertanker, crash gearbox/heavy clutch. It would play with a round baler, needs to be on heavy cultivation work in a straight line!

Used to have a Dual Power 8730, huge old thing but it was a revelation swapping to a TM165!!

Be hopeless on a round baler. Buy something with clutchless shuttle for that job unless you want a hip/knee replacement by time your 50!

As said the TW35 is a machine for pulling something heavy in a straight line at a constant speed. For stop start jobs or low rev work it would be well out of its comfort zone.
