Yesterday noticed a ewe had really bad scour... by nighttime feed shed gone off her legs... did the usual, twin lamb drench, calcium 100ml, alamycin LA 7ml... this morning notice another had scoured and now it's gone off it's legs also... rang the vets and they said give them 24hrs to come round now Iv treated for twin lamb? But the first ewe isn't looking any brighter and I treated her 24hrs ago... anyone any ideas as to what could be? Neither seem to want to eat more than a mouth full...

Fed on ad lib bale silage and ewe rolls.. both due to lamb any time soon...

As @GTB says , my money would be acidosis. Scouring and going off their legs and off their food, all sounds like acidosis.

They've been being fed for the last 8 weeks and due to lamb imminently the same ewe rolls from the start...

Acidosis could be possibility....

Both had a pint of water with 2 table spoons of bicarbonate soda now... how fast should I be looking for them to perk up? Do I re-treat in the morning?

How have you treated for twin lamb?

Bicarbonate is of very limited use for acidosis, you also need a longer acting buffer.

A big dose of a twin lamb drench, 100ml of calcium in 5 places and gave 7ml of alamycin LA as the scour put me towards thinking it was something else bacterial not twin lamb....
