Just roguing blackgrass with the kids and my daughter was using the wheat leaves to grass whistle, I thought I'd explain the wheat leaves and that the flag leaf should be the biggest leaf hopefully and best for grass whistling. Confusingly there appears to be two? Why's that then daddy? Thought I'd better ask the collective.

A comment yesterday was that the leaf coming out now should have been leaf 2, but is now the flag. The ear is still way down the stem, rather than almost splitting the boot. Late drilled I believe.
