How vital is it to tie in the stanchions (with a v shaped bit of rebar???) Building specced withlevel fill 4m high, 145mm grain wall / 6" reinforced floor slab. Thanks

When we did our grain store we poured about a metre beyond the legs and had mesh round the legs tying the legs to the whole floor slab. Mesh was a252. It would have to rip the floor to bits to push the legs out. 175mm deep concrete with plastic underneath.

I would!! With that weight of grain in the legs will be taking a lot of pressure. It’s a cheap things to do so well worth it in my opinion.

Hmmm, pretty important. Presumably tied in to stop the legs being pushed out at the base.

If you have already missed it out speak to your structural engineer. There's always an alternative way of dealing with these things and it isn't unknown for grain stores to go pop.
