Tyre inflation System.

That’s what I thought, but those valves do need a fancy controller.

I am getting four blocks machined at the moment. They will channel the air in and out of the tyre, making the connection between the axle and the tyre valve. There will be no valve or any moving parts contained within them, they are just to replace the original valves. There will be a manually operated ball valve between each of them and the valve on the wheel rim so I can fully isolate the whole system, making it very safe.

That manual element won’t suit everyone but will be fine for my situation.
Hi Pete, is the tyre system getting a signal to say there is air in the tanks. Won't work if it hasn't, I think its designed so not to empty the tanks filling the tyres up. Cheers

Would these work as rotating couplings for wheels?

I’m not really making a system, just adapting one.

I’ve discussed this before though with a few people, the possibility of developing a manual, simple system. General consensus seems to be that nobody will buy such a system because everyone expects technology and electronics. Nobody actually wants to actuate anything, much less if they have to get out of the cab.

If them rotary unions would work that’s a very cheep way on doing it they are less than £10 each but only rated for 212turns per minute how many times will a tractor wheel go round a min at 40kph?
