Tyre options

Rather than wider go for Trelleborg 1060s or Michelin Ultraflex so you can run them at much lower pressures and they flex lenght ways and dont bulge out the side.

Next width up for the rears are 710s which require 23 or 25" wide rims. Your rims are likely 20", they'd probably fit, but be a bit wobbly going down the road with some weight on. Tyres on the wrong size rims could be considered unroadworthy as well I suppose. As above you'd benefit much more in terms of ground pressure and traction with the super low pressure tyres that are available now

Exactly, go longer than wider. Didn’t know if you wanted them for a different purpose or not. Makes a big difference if you know what your trying to do

I don't know what kind of work you want to do with that tractor and which brand you're using now. But if you want to lower your pressure for the soil you could consider Bridgestone VT tractor or Michelin Axiobib 2. Also Bridgestone VX-Tractor is a really good tyre for everyday use in the field and on the road. But you have to let us know what you want to do with that machine.

It's not destined to do anything in particular. It's may do some ploughing and a bit of road work. I think I'm going to go for 650/70/42 and 540/70/30.

Check your ratio its not always as simple as going up the same profile front and rear

I have a used set 650/75R42 Mitas with 50mm thread.. Perfect for ploughing and allround work. It will need 600/70R30 on front. But it is 2,05 meters high.. I still don't know which type of tractor you have.
