Tyre pressure gauges

I have seen the reviews in the recent Profi magazine of the pressure gauges. They test everything except for the low pressure end (5-10psi). What are people using that work well. Either analog or digital, ideally with a decent size display.

Just buy digital gauges off Amazon.

Chap from Firestone was impressed! Said most farmers just use guage for inflating them to set tyre pressures.

Have one of these pcl ones, good for low pressures, accurate as well.
Have a couple of wonder tyre inflater gauges as well but find after a while they lost accuracy, I put it down to the water vapour in the compressor. Think it’s better to have a separate gauge to check pressures that isn’t used for inflating.

Electronic bin it, paid more than enough 8-9yrs ago for a digital one only used it a few times mostly for my car then batteries went flat, it would have been cheaper to have got a mechanical one, everything these day's must have a battery, thank god we never had battery powered horse's,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Does anyone make a digital inflator/ deflator where you can lock it on to the valve stem, set the pressure and walk away while it adjusts?
Both tractors are on VT tyres which is great, but we spend 20 minutes contorted around the lift arms setting the pressures, which is a pain in the hoop.

petrol stations have these type of machines. Would just need fit on a new end to clamp the valve. Don’t know who makes them, probably a plate on them

Still got a couple of PCL ones, probably over 30 years old, had a digital one which lasted a year before the battery died after being left in a freezing workshop. Using an ARB (knock off) analogue type for about £15 at the moment which has lasted well.

I have an analog sealey one, must have some age about it now but still available TSTPDG01, about £20-25 on eBay.
Keeps the reading on the gauge until you press the release button which is handy for those hard to reach valves. Also has tread depth gauge for the non ag vehicles.

You can get a 12v version as well so it could be mounted on the tractor. If you make a pipe up with a Tee then you could blow both sides up at once...

Use an arb quick deflator. It screws the valve core out so deflation is seconds rather than minutes.

Can't believe everyone moaning about batteries! These are 35p. Just keep a pack in workshop. Most car key jobs use same battery.

The digital one I had was a pain to use on some tyres where the valve body was flat against the wheel and the wheel boss got in the way of the gauge, it also overread by 5psi compared to three other gauges which were within 1 or 2 psi of each other.

Where were you? Have never been there before but managed to get a decent gauge off them.

These type of gauges are far more accurate than cheap electronic and many of the lower end inflator gauges. I would not trust many on a garage forecourt either. Seem to remember an report a while back suggesting many were way out.

I got this recently. Don't know how long it'll last but it works very well and very accurately.
