cut in side wall of an otherwise very good condition rear tyre cut is about 2” and looks like it’s gone through... anything to do or is replacement the only option?

Should be repairable , have put a branch through a 600 65 38 sidewall about 8 years ago which was professionally repaired still going 3000 hrs later, followed a year later by driving over a polytunnel base pole and punching a 2 inch diameter hole out between two cleats on the other back tyre on the same tractor. It was repaired too and is still fine.

Ok great. I know on car tyres any damage to side wall is not repairable was hoping agri tyres were different. Will try and ask a local agri tyre fitter

I tore a Y shaped hole in the side wall of a tractor tyre. It was about 3 inches from end to end. I had the tyre repaired and it cost about £100 and was good job.

Had tyre man out, it’s repairable but has to be sent away, to remove ship repair return and refit is around £200 which is more than I hoped but less than it could be...

Considering what needs doing not bad actually.

Did exact this 25 years ago, tyre place glued a gaiter on the inside and it lasted for the life of the tyre no issues

Odd size 14-34? That’s an option if there is a part worn anywhere to be had tyre man didn’t think there were many about but said he would keep an eye out.

If it's that old is it worth repairing? 14x34 is a 16.9x34 in new money and second hand or new budget tyres should be plentiful. 420/85r34 is also the same size

Tyre isn’t that old I don’t think will check date codes next time I am there a budget Indian tyres is £240 + del fitting and vat repair is £220 inc del fitting and vat and it’s a decent tyre firestone maybe thats fitted tractor had new tyres all round a few years before we go it and our use will never wear out a tyre machine will be scrap long before tyres wear down while a new tyre makes some sense we are at minimal expense point as both machines have needed work recently......

Was done by a local agri tyre specialist not sure if they did the repair in house or sent it away but they dealt with it all there are lots of videos on you tube and it looks straight forward probably buy a kit on eBay (you can for most things)

are you local (South Wales) I can get a number for you if you are
