Tyres for top work

currently running 30.5 X 32 rear tyres and 540 65 28 fronts
My question is do I fit Michelin xeobib 710 60 38s and 600 60 28s or do I replace the 30.5s with new 800 65 32s and new 540 fronts as they're also about shot. This is on a 140 Hp 4 cyl tractor mainly spraying and fertiliser sowing.
Are the xeobibs worth the extra money ( heard today they don't grip that well from 50%)

Xeobibs are great tyre's with the VF side walls can be ran a low pressure, your 800-656-32 will not be a VF tyre & can not be ran a t low pressures, as big as you can get in VF or IF is a 900 but i do not think your tractor will have the weight to make these tyre's work, if you could have gone to 710-60-42 & 600-60-30 like we have a 6480 then that would work the best for you.

If you go for low ground pressure, you'll sacrifice grip because you won't have the weight to push the lugs in. They will have to dig in to find the grip and that means a bit of wheel slip. You can't have your cake and eat it.

Interesting.
Not flotations but just got new tractor with Trelleborg 650 tyres on it.
Dealer says it’s first one they’ve had come in with new double lug design.
Not too sure about them for grip as to me looks like they might not dig in as much conventional lug but i’m sure much research went into design & development of them:unsure:

them tyres will not fit a lot of tractors as the rim is to small to go over the air tanks etc, on a Mf 6470 a 710 is what you want on the back you tractor will not make a tyre that size work right.

Prob be going on a 6715S and 6470 the odd time
6715 is on 650s airtanks under steps on MF

Running 710 r42 exobibs here, can't fault them. I'm all grassland and a bit of reseeding and land reclaimation every year, kindest tyre Ive seen on ground. Actually was pricing 710/60r38 and 600/60r28 today for another tractor.

That Trelleborg tread looks wrong to me, as the bar wears down it gets much fatter.. So once the tyre is worn down it gets harder to push into the ground. Kind of the opposite of what you want. The best tread for grip I ever had was the agribibs with a really deep narrow bar. Really bit in and lasted for ages. The way I see it, narrow bars to grip slippery grass when sliding away could kill you.. and wider bars for running on the road for longer life and possibly safer handling at higher speeds.
