UFH manifold leaky

Been going round getting ready to put the heating on and found this. Would you give the nut some oomph or put a new bit of pipe in? I’m no plumber and don’t really want to have the whole contents of the central heating draining itself under the stairs!!

Clean it off for a start and make sure it's not the fitting into the actual manifold leaking. If not just give nut a nip but don't go mad its only a plastic olive which grips the pipe. The actual seal on those fittings is o rings on the part of the fitting which goes inside the pipe. Its possible the pipe end isn't cut square or may not be far enough into the fitting but to check that you would need to let water pressure off and remove nut to see.

Have similar piping here…..local heating engineer turns hi nose up at it…
Tells me it is “Uponer“ pipe and fittings are no longer available….
Don't know if this is true or not, but it has put me off doing any fiddling…it was installed about 16 years ago.
Could be Heating Engineer ….keep the client in his place….

Our house was done using Uponor pipe 4 yrs ago, crimped fittings mostly.Don’t think it’s hard to get fittings, they’re just a bit different with being 16mm instead of 15 etc

Drop the pressure, turn off the isolators feeding the manifold, and either have a spare fitting or a collection of O rings to hand, good chance its just the O ring in the fitting deteriorated, replace and refit. .....and yes, 16mm pipe on those

Fittings easily available

Uponor pipe would most likely be made for them by another manufacturer. I think maincor may be a manufacturer who make for others, either way fittings easily available.
