Think we could do with something like this in the UK.

The US Inspector Generals are a good idea in theory, but in practice they don't seem to have any teeth. The Special Inspector General who investigated the actions of US contractors in Iraq issued reports month after month about the massive wastage and diversion of government funds, but there was never any action. So long as the companies kept contributing to campaign funds of their key politicians, they were Teflon coated. The situation there (in the USA) is probably even worse than it is here.

Could be worth noting, this will also apply to those RICS members and other professionals who have hidden behind a veil of legal privilege and instruction.
Mind you there is already sufficient legislation out there it just needs the authorities to do what the taxpayer pays them to do.:banghead:

Trouble is judges have an easy way around this as in my case. I had two rock solid examples of fraud carried out by Lancashire Mortgage Corporation but the Judge in her infinite wisdom decided that the Mortgage Contract I had signed was unenforceable because they had not signed the agreement therefore they could not be charged with fraud. The Judge could have forced them sign the agreement but then they would have been in breach of FCA rules by not being registered to carry out regulated Mortgages and would of been restricted to a maximum 30k payout. Instead the Judge having total power decided the 30k paid to me should be repaid at a compound interest rate of 26% with no right of appeal. Not forgetting the banks legal fees of £50k even though it was them that had not signed the agreement in the first place.
It would be nice to get a response from the FCA or SFO but they dont appear to be interested in individual cases.

Yes, the Lliars Banking Group,as they seem to be known now,are desperately trying to cushion the impending rail crash.Doesn't that make you think that there might just be a lot of stuff about that might seriously damage the reputation of them, but, the good old trustworthy AMC as well.:sneaky:

only if he's got a credit card thats not totally bombed out yet

Acorn Country Capital - tried for strike off by default but creditor objected, reported micro accounts today -£2m (UK Acorn sub charges & Gleek)

UK Farm Finance - £692k

UK Acorn Finance - £9.7m

Mudgley Farm - £2.4m

Brent Farms - £150k + default interest & LPA fees to Lendy

Agricultural Properties - await tin shed sale - £1m+default interest?

Everything he touches turns to dust, why do people give him their money? Its all out there in the media.

What we all want to know is where has all the money gone?
That's equivalent to more than a very large fleet of Range Rovers.

add in the ones he got struck off by default inc. DVJ Properties, Menai Strait, Llech Y Dwr there must be about £20m evaporated into thin air!
AT least.
Sure either he or his friends and relations will turn up as directors or beneficial owners of companies with assets in the Paradise Papers or the Panama Papers or Lux Leaks, or another way of hiding money yet to be announced.
These "bankers" they "make" money out of thin air but they don't let it disappear, they hang on to it, that's the nature of the beast.

Believe you overlooked U.K. Country Capitals, more or less the same loss as Barclays. Makes you wonder what is going on when 6 years down the road that is still not liquidated and Des is paying 5K a year for the privilege of this on the basis of pursuing professional advisers involved at the time. That part of the agreement to acquire the Loan Book.
