Really the world is going to have to live within this virus, it will potentially never be eradicated in some countries,
Vaccination seems to be holding up against the variants so far to an extent
Main vaccination centre very quiet in Newcastle yesterday. The young uns dont turn up in the cold and rain. A big strong 6 footer young lad promptly keeled over after getting his jab, just ordinary fainted and fine later, and young girl ran away when asked to lift her arm up for the jab.(they managed to coax her back in later)

Can you imagine the EU’s reaction when it tops 100,000 a day!

I would imagine it would be the same as our govt SHOULD do if (say) France had a similar rise in infection levels. Not that our lot will do anything of the sort of course, money is far more important, almost as important as those 'essential' foreign holidays.

The day before I had my second jab I was up at 3am and didn’t get to bed until 1am the next morning.
After having my jab I was asked to sit in a waiting room for 15 minutes, sat down, leaned back against the wall and promptly fell asleep.
That give em a bit of a shock 😂😂😂

Think there’s a bit of a typo there, how did you manage to refer to our government, the importance of money and farm in the same sentence 😂😂😂

UK gov. could stop people travelling to Spain in case Catalonia breeds a new variant. Won't happen though will it.

We ( in Suffolk ) are seeing a fair number of school kids getting positive PCR tests and a lot of disruption as entire year groups are sent home to parents who then also have to isolate. It seems the jabs appear to be working as parents are not catching the virus.
Problem is that businesses just getting going again are having to shut down...

who then also have to isolate

Don't think this is correct - whilst the kids have to self isolate if they have been close contacts of a positive test, my understading was that the parents shouldn't have to be (unless the kid tests positive themselves). Childminding is another matter, of course, but shouldn't impact both parents.

Will the new world (vaccine) beating variant, which could possibly arise from this latest Tory economic economic, be called the Boris variant?
It is after all a pure experiment in economics, as it defies all known public health and scientific norms and advice.

Sure, but the concern expressed by the scientists, is that the current planned easing of such restrictions as masks and social distancing, on such a large nationwide scale, is that new vaccine proof variants, have the best possible conditions to emerge.
For sake and inconvenience of masks and social distance measures, there’s surely not too much logic in giving this disease a leg up?
