Possibly , but just looked at the numbers and roughly 333 are admitted every day and 230 being discharged . and 88% in hospital are unvaccinated

Sure, but the concern expressed by the scientists, is that the current planned easing of such restrictions as masks and social distancing, on such a large nationwide scale, is that new vaccine proof variants, have the best possible conditions to emerge.
For sake and inconvenience of masks and social distance measures, there’s surely not too much logic in giving this disease a leg up?

To be fair a variant that isn’t constrained by the current vaccine will come along sooner or later anyway, just by virtue of the number of infect people worldwide at any one time, and random mutation.

Israel is probably as close as you can get to the planned UK policy. Both countries have high vaccination numbers. Israel has higher vaccination status than UK, and opened up in a similar fashion to that planned by Boris.
Six weeks later Delta cases starts to rise exponentially, even mildly infecting people with two Pfizer jabs. Israel had to reintroduce restrictions including mandatory social distance measures and masks.
The good thing for the UK of course, is that nobody but nobody can execute a U Turn like Boris. He‘s gonna need his best u turn manoeuvre for this one.

My complaint would be that the media and govt. seem to be fixated with cases only.

I said the government told me that.
I am not complaining I have said the same for 15 months.
I do not believe the virus is harmful enough to warrant any restrictions on society.
