We are currently exporting a lot of old crop from East Anglia at the moment.... Its a strange old world to think we will need it all back in a few months time!

Best wheat will do about 3.5 to 4 t ac , even better it was cheaply established. Broadcast with no fert or sprays , looking great.

Sadly rather agree - that was the first no deal tariff forecast we saw, open the floodgates into the UK apocalypse. So a surprise to see an import tariff on cereals at £79 - where did that come from?

Note the bit at the bottom of the AHDB page. There are tariff free quotas into EU and the original realistic tariff was closer to €15-17/t which still hurts but is more palatable. Of course our feckless politicians could strike a deal that doesn't shaft us... European maltsters like UK barley and they can't grow enough of their own. In a "normal" year Spain is drier and needs to import feed grain from us. We need the European market and they need ours. If only business wasn't ruined by politicians!
