disgraceful behavior by the police, in the historical sex allegations made about people such as edward heath, lord brammell, and others, on the say so of a fantisist? who was made to answer for that? all the distress and angress it caused, not alone the wasted amount of police time and resources? the very bitter pill we have to swallow is many of these incompetent civil servants either get early retirement on a very big fat gold plated pension? or as happened many times, get another big fat well payed job in an other local authority? disgraceful? Tony Blair in my view takes some beating for the top person, king of the cockups? not been made to answer for the UK going to war on the pretence that iraq had weapons of mass distruction? Oh so they hunted high and low when they got there for them ?
IIRC was that down to the Tom Watson allegations made in parliament ?

She’s incompetent.
Quite possibly , doesn't take much for them to fall in line , Mineete Batters is out of her depth , by a considerable distance

I would get rid of Red Tractor and AHDB tomorrow, but I think you are wrong about Minette Batters. She is the best leader of the NFU for years and has represented us very well in the media. (You might look at the prices we are getting recently)

Please can either of you suggest someone who would be a better President of the NFU? It certainly isn't her understudy.

Batters has had nothing to do with increases in commodity prices. That’s just a ludicrous thing to say.

And Me. I’ll go in and have a clear out. Any none farming members will be sidelined and farmers will be put first.

I'm just saying while many farmers are talking ourselves into a mess, prices for our products are higher than I can ever remember.

If prices were poor, many would be criticising Minette for not doing enough.

I understand Minette is a big supporter of RT, so if you want to get rid of RT tomorrow then you'll have to get rid of Minette today.

I agree she's a decent ambassador, face of ag, good speaker etc. Not quite so keen on some of the policies.

She keeps saying standards of imports need to match ours, but of course they never will, yet supports RT which piles more rules and costs on to us.

Why would our own NFU President voluntarily pile extra costs on to us, whilst she knows imports are accessing our own markets with lower standards. She's tying one hand behind our backs and that is losing us market share and denting our profits.

Guessing we should probably add NRoSO after the thread on here.

Especially since as pointed out by Fuzzy their website lists training events we can attend to gain points in 2013...

Are you serious!! You actually think the Nfu have influence over commodity market prices. Nobody with a brain would ever blame the Nfu because wheat was £100/t because the Nfu are totally irrelevant. The government think they are a joke. An mp told me they were a laughing stock in political circles purely because the they do what the government tell them to do.

They don’t even have any influence over their membership. They are a bunch of idiots basically.

The people that run AONBs are fairly unaccountable aren't they? Not elected but appointed. They can throw out your planning application or incur you very serious costs. Same with Natural England, Historic whatever its called. Ruin your development by insisting on an archeological dig and saddle you with crippling expenses. You don't vote for them though and can't get them out. Little Hitlers with no accountability.

I’m very serious and a MP who calls others a joke should look into their mirror.

Maybe you might have a go and put up for election and show us how to do it.

The mp in question was just being honest. Nfu believers really need to take a step back and look at it. It’s corrupt and run by supermarkets. Your just paying gravy train riders that are colluding behind the scenes against you with the AHDB, RT, AIC and the supermarkets. Wake up.

Have a go yourself and let's see how you do.

I do not support AHDB or Red Tractor and have told Minette several times, however some farmers do agree with them. I wish they would give us a vote on the beef and lamb lot...but they aren't that daft after their shock after the horticulture and potato votes.

Oh.......since when have MPs been honest? I think you may be rather gullible.

I’ll happily go in there and shake it up. I’ve already said it many times. The wage bill will be halved on day 1. All the none farming members will be sidelined and asked to leave.

And I think you are the the deluded one putting your faith in an organisation that just rides the gravy train. It’s corrupt and fraudulent.

How are they corrupt and fraudulent?

They are colluding behind the scenes against combinable crop farmer members. They are in bed with Red Tractor, AIC, SQC, AHDB. There is evidence proving this.

And that’s without looking into the livestock side of things, but that’s now just starting to happen quietly as well.

Also the people working at the Nfu are the gravy train riders waiting for the leg up into other things like RT, AIC, AHDB.

Are you trying to say that Minette batters is so powerful that she affects commodity prices? This is probably the most ludicrous thing I’ve ever seen on this quite often ludicrous forum.

HSE with their desktop designed policies, like stacking quadrant bales like bricks in a barn (eventually rescinded when they were repeatedly told how stupid they were), or making pensioners do UTV training because they might take the bins to the end of the drive in a Gator. :banghead:

I am off to a ‘focus’ meeting later this afternoon, where we are going to be questioned about H & S on farms. I may be able to hold my tongue….. for about 5 minutes.🤐😂
If you held your tongue for 5 mins then you did better than anyone on our group !!
