Got out to the field with the combine 4am this morning, to see a fair old blaze the next field over, in the back of a yard.

Fire service duly called- apparently it was some twit with a firepit.. standing crop/stumbles all around FFS.

I’ll never cease to be amazed at the stupidity of a lot of people.no precautions taken and allways got the currently overworked fire brigade to call on to help when things go wrong.my sister went to a barbecue last night on the local millionaires row.i know harvest hast been finished a week but lots of chopped straw on stubble and grass and verges and hedges are tinder dry.

Speaking to chap down Blandford Forum way the other night and big fires that way too, smoke closing roads etc.
Farmer/contractor Baler outfit started a fire as allegedly a stone caught in the chamber and as ram struck it sparked and lit bales up???
