Unbrako concrete panels - Poor Customer Service!!

Looking for some concrete panels, and after people recommending this company on here and with being fairly local (Notts) thought we'd give them a go.
Father contacted Unbrako about buying some prestressed concrete panels to put a dividing wall in a shed. Spoke to chap in morning who gave a rough idea of price and said he'd get back to us before end of day to arrange to come out to measure and check what fixings etc were required.
Heard nothing so rang back following day to which he said he would come out couple of days later on the Friday at 8.30am. Didn't come and no phone call.
So phoned again this Monday and he said, Oh no, I meant next Friday, So gave him the benefit of doubt and was told he would come this morning at 8.30am.
Guess what never turned up or didn't even have the decency to phone!. It's as if the company are not bothered about any business.
No doubt they will be at Lamma advertising their services, which seems a waste of time if they ignore genuine people who want to purchase from them.
Rant over!!

Well I had superb service from them and they're the best quality panels I've used.

I wouldn't expect a firm to come out to look at panels, they're can't be that much margin in them to come and measure them up for you.

He said that he would come out to sort out fixings / measure.
If couldn't / wouldn't only needed to tell us. It only costs a phone call, as it just wastes your time. Seems full of false promises.
If they were based the other end of the country then it would be different.

Have you phoned them to tell them your concerns before ranting on the Internet ?

I can highly recommend poundfield products. Excellent backup to a friend of mine. Had a guided tour of the works, which is on a farm, maybe that's why they're good, they are farmers.

There is nothing wrong with the Unbrako customer service; we use them for all of our panels on the farm and find them nothing but obliging and a much better panel than we have had from there rivals, however, we do know how to use a tape measure and are more than capable of measuring simple distances between two points our self. Like @S J H said perhaps you should have spoken to them before causing them potential harm on here.

But why say you are going to go and look at a job (multiple times) if you have no intention of doing so?

We don't very often do site visits for all sorts of reasons, but if I'd told someone I would come out I'd bloody well turn up or at least phone them to let them know the change of plan.

??? We've chased the chap up more than enough times, and given him an opportunity to put things in order. Can use a tape measure thank you, but with them offering service at least we would get correct fixing etc as want to fix to atcost concrete stanchions.
Not to let you know that they can't be bothered is my main gripe.
Maybe just the rep, but they are representing the company.

Shouldn't these types of threads be deleted until both parties have had time to reply?
I thought this was the whole point of the forum to put across good and bad experiences, as I have been a member of the forum for a long time and will give praise where it is due. I have never said that there is anything wrong with their products!
I could understand your point if I had just joined to post about this matter.

I think there's better ways of doing things, I've forgotten to go and look at jobs in the past, or when things overrun on site in the day it's a struggle get back in time.

I wouldn't expect a customer to go on the Internet and write about the problem, I'd expect them to go to another company.

I am very sorry about the confusion , I have spoken to Adam and he says he said , he would try and get today and that he did mean coming this Friday originally.
I like to think that we are a very helpful firm and definitely value our customers ( both large and small ) very highly. I have occasionally travelled 200 odd miles to measure a hand full of very low priced panels .

I myself am a farmers son and until very recently worked on the farm myself , I have massive respect for the farmers who keep us in business and earn there living in this difficult climate. I teach the staff to treat every customer importantly and sometimes by trying to do so much I can't rule out making the odd mistake.
What we are not is greedy and uncaring , our prices are very low .
We sell a huge volume of panels and only have a small office staff in order to be so competitive .
If it is alright with you our man John can be with you in the morning ( Wed 20th ) around 9 am .
If we are at fault please accept my genuine apologies and I can assure you we will do an extremely keen price as a good will gesture.
If John is not there by 9.30 you can have the panels for free , that's a promise !
Thank you ,
Paul

I can see John getting ambushed for an hour on his way there tomorrow now!

find @Unbrako precast have well made panels compared to some. would be useful if panels came with a set of guide ropes to screw into where bolts go to assist lifting and guiding so everyone is well clear in case of lifting failure as the big ones are VERY heavy. we made some easily by welding a washer onto bolt head to take guide ropes. Maybe supplying these would create a health and safety issue if not used correctly? but +1 for them
